Strategies of the Long-Term Unemployed

Mgr. Ondřej Hora, Ph.D.

This text deals with the life situation and behaviour of the long-term unemployed. The unemployed – on the basis of their previous experience – evaluate their possibilities in the labour market, choose such mechanisms of integration (strategies), which correspond to their rooted ways of life and are acceptable for them and their environment. Experience of the unemployed together with rational calculus may reflect also in their motivation and flexibility in finding a job in the formal labour market, perhaps even in choosing strategies, which lead to the area of informal economy.
